Okay, choir members - this one's for you.

Every year, your choir bands together to organize a group gift for your choir director and accompanist. You pass a secret envelope during rehearsals to collect money and then someone is tasked with finding the *perfect* gifts to be given at the annual Christmas party.

This year, it's your turn to find the gifts.

Where to start? What kind of gift would a musician like to receive? (Hint: maybe not another pair of piano socks. Just saying.)

Don't panic - this gift guide was made for you! Here are six unique gift ideas specifically for church musicians - something for everyone!

Whatever your budget, remember it truly is the thought that counts. Whatever gifts you choose, consider including a handwritten note and/or a card signed by everyone in the choir to express your appreciation and gratitude. This will speak volumes by itself.

SIX UNIQUE, CREATIVE GIFTS FOR CHOIR DIRECTORS & CHURCH MUSICIANS

01  |  A Thoughtful Letter

Never underestimate the power of a thoughtful letter. This is something your director and/or accompanist will cherish for years to come! Include a witty anecdote or two, a few sweet memories, and some genuine words of thanks and appreciation. Or, perhaps you have someone in the choir that could write a poem or new lyrics to be sung to a familiar tune. Be creative! (free!)

02  |  Art Print

These black and white art prints work well at home, in the office, or in the choir room! Choose from a variety of familiar hymns, including "Great Is Thy Faithfulness,""Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing,""America, the Beautiful," and the "Doxology."(doxologypress.etsy.com, $15)

03  |  Tickets to a show

Everyone enjoys a night out on the town every now and again! Give your director and/or accompanist tickets to see the local symphony, attend a local theater event, or see a traveling show that will be coming to town in a few months. (varies)

04  |  Composition Notebok

If your director or accompanist does any writing of their own, this gift will be invaluable. Keep this composition notebook handy for quick descants, reharmonization, transitions, and other service music notes. This one is a classic (moleskine.com, $19.95), but you might also consider this handmade one (with staff lines on one side and regular lined paper on the other), created by musicians, for musicians (pierrotplus.etsy.com, $26).

05  |  Hymn Tea Towels

Perhaps better-suited for female directors and accompanists, these flour sack tea towels are screen-printed in the USA on 100% soft, absorbent cotton. Available in two designs: "Amazing Grace" and "Come, Thou Fount." (doxologypress.etsy.com, $10.50)

06  |  Gift certificate

When in doubt, a gift certificate to a local movie theater, restaurant, or music store is a great (and much-appreciated) gift that can be used throughout the year! (varies)

Hopefully, this gives you a few new ideas for what to give your choir director and/or accompanist this year. I'd love to hear what you end up doing!
